The upcoming Samsung Galaxy S24 FE might launch as soon as this month – or in October at the latest, if we go by the most recent rumors on the matter. It was recently certified by the FCC, a process which revealed support for 9W reverse wireless charging.
Now through a TUV certification we finally know what to expect in terms of wired charging, and it’s not great news. The S24 FE will top out at 25W, exactly the same as its predecessor from last year. So the FE model once again misses out on at least 45W, which is right now Samsung’s maximum. Cost cutting strikes again, we assume.
Samsung Galaxy S23 FE
The Galaxy S24 FE will be powered by the Exynos 2400 chipset, but not the regular one. Instead, Samsung has for whatever reason (cutting costs on cooling?) opted to go with a downclocked version of the chip. So that will be a clear step down in the FE from the vanilla S24, for example.
Design-wise, the S24 FE and S23 FE might be very hard to tell apart, at least from the back. Of course, Samsung could make things easier by launching the S24 FE with new colors that weren’t featured on its predecessor. Let’s see what happens.
