Years ago, I used to do a lot of freezer cooking. I’d share my one-hour, four-hour, or even all-day cooking sessions on here on the blog, and people loved them.
One thing I often made was peanut butter and jelly sandwiches for the freezer. In my posts, I’d casually mention, “I made 10 PB&J sandwiches for the freezer,” and without fail, someone would write and ask:
“How do you make freezer PB&J?”
At first, I’d respond with something like, “You just make PB&J sandwiches and freeze them.” But people would ask again:
“No, but how do you make them?”
It dawned on me that something I thought was so simple and obvious was not obvious at all to someone else. Eventually, I ended up writing a recipe for freezer PB&J—bread, peanut butter, jelly—and step-by-step instructions. (Pro tip: spread PB on both slices first so the jelly never touches the bread—no soggy sandwiches!)
I’ve lost track of how many people have told me that post changed their life.
Why am I telling you this? Because you, too, have knowledge, skills, and experiences that feel like “common sense” to you but could be life-changing to someone else.
