Hey, West Texans! I’ll be in San Angelo on Saturday, September 13th, speaking at the Concho Valley Master Gardeners Fall Landscaping Symposium at the Texas A&M Center. I invite you to come out for my presentation:

Lawn Gone: 8 Great Ideas for Your Yard After Digging Up the Turf

Tired of mowing, watering, and pouring money into a patch of green that gives little back? Ready to kick the traditional lawn to the curb but unsure what to do with all that open space? This talk will spark your imagination and give you ideas for transforming your yard into a beautiful, functional, and eco-friendly space. We’ll explore eight creative alternatives—from native prairie gardens to easy-care groundcovers to edible gardens and more. Options for sun and shade will give you ideas for all the spaces in your yard. Whether you’re dreaming of a pollinator haven or a waterwise retreat to relax in, you’ll be inspired to go lawn-gone!

Register by September 10th to attend the all-day symposium

My talk begins at 1 pm, right after lunch. If you’ve been itching to replace some (or all) of your thirsty lawn with something more rewarding, this talk will give you ideas and inspiration to get going.

Book Signing

Stick around afterward for my book signing, where I’ll have Lawn Gone! and The Water-Saving Garden available.

Coming out October 14th

My newest book, Gardens of Texas, will only be available for pre-order online (no copies for sale at the talk), since publication day is in October. But I’ll show a sneak peek at some of the gardens in my talk!

Remember, you must register by September 10th to attend. The cost is $30, with 5 talks and lunch included. Don’t miss this day of garden learning in the Concho Valley!
