5 Pieces I'm Excited to Wear This Fall

The other night, my kids and I were talking about our favorite seasons, and my answer was immediate: fall. I love crunching through orange leaves and spotting toddlers wearing giant backpacks. Best of all, though, is pulling cozy clothes out of the closet. Here are five pieces I’m looking forward to wearing…

5 Pieces I'm Excited to Wear This Fall

1. Barn jacket. J.Crew’s famous for their 1983 style, but I’m even more into Madewell’s denim version and cropped waxed one.

2. Brown corduroy. Nothing feels more autumnal than brown corduroy; give me all the rich shades and soft textures. Five pieces: short dress, long dress, long pant, cropped pant, and overalls. (Also, if money were no object!!)

3. Rugby shirts. My dad played rugby in high school and college, and he’s famous for saying, “rugby is like football but without pads or helmets.” I’m a delicate flower and would never step foot on a pitch, but I do love the look of rugby shirts. Sporty style is huge this fall, and here are three great looks: brown, cream, and green.

4. Track pants. Speaking of sporty, I’ve been spotting lots of women in Brooklyn wearing track pants with sweaters. The combo looks chic but feels like pajamas. The Adidas ones are the classic, and Universal Standard has a bunch of cool colors. Also, my friend Jessie just made a pair with wavy ric-rac stripes!

5. Red flats. The viral Sézane pair has sold out (although hopefully will come back), but here are two similar styles: ballet and shiny. They brighten up any outfit with that pop of color.

Thoughts? What are you excited to wear as the weather gets crisper? I also love this brown sweater with just one button buttoned.

P.S. A playlist for long walks, and our very low-key fall checklist.
