The Xiaomi 17 series is now official, but it wasn’t the only highlight of the event. Xiaomi also introduced the new Pad 8 and Pad 8 Pro tablets.
The Xiaomi Pad 8 and Pad 8 Pro share several features, including an 11.2-inch LCD display with 3.2K resolution, 800 nits peak brightness, and a 144Hz refresh rate. The panel also supports full DC dimming, HDR10, HDR Vivid, and Dolby Vision.
Both tablets also get a Matte edition, which features an AG texture coating on the display that is said to cut reflections by up to 70%. The tablets pack quad speakers with Dolby Atmos, a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, and a 9,200mAh battery. The Pad 8 supports 45W fast charging, while the Pro model steps it up to 67W.
Design-wise, the two models are identical, measuring 5.75mm in thickness and weighing 485g. Both tablets run HyperOS 3 based on Android 16 and share the same connectivity features, including Wi-Fi 7, 5G, and Bluetooth 5.4.
Now, let’s take a look at the differences. The Xiaomi Pad 8 is powered by the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 SoC, paired with up to 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. Meanwhile, the Pro model gets the Snapdragon 8 Elite, up to 16GB RAM, and 512GB storage.
The camera specs are different too. On the standard model, you get a 13MP rear camera and an 8MP sensor on the front. The Xiaomi Pad 8 Pro features a 50MP rear camera and a 32MP selfie unit.
Xiaomi Pad 8 in Ice Crystal Blue, Black, and Turquoise Green
Xiaomi’s Pad 8 and Pad 8 Pro are available in Black, Turquoise Green, and Ice Crystal Blue colors. The Pad 8 starts at CNY 2,199 ($310) for the 8 GB/128 GB option, whereas the 8 GB/256 GB variant is priced at CNY 2,499 ($350). The 12 GB/256 GB model has a price tag of CNY 2,799 ($390).
Meanwhile, the Matte edition will cost you CNY 2,699 ($380) for the 8 GB/256 GB option and CNY 2,999 ($420) for the 12 GB/256 GB model.
Xiaomi Pad 8 Pro in Ice Crystal Blue, Turquoise Green, and Black
The Pad 8 Pro is priced at CNY 2,799 ($390) for the 8 GB/128 GB variant and CNY 3,099 ($435) for 8 GB/256 GB option. The 12 GB/256 GB model carries a price of CNY 3,399 ($475), whereas the 12 GB/512 GB option will cost you CNY 3,699 ($520). There’s also a 16 GB/512 GB option that is priced at CNY 3,899 ($550).
You can get the Pro model in Matte edition as well, which starts at CNY 3,599 ($505) for the 12 GB/ 256 GB option. It’s also available in a 12 GB/512 GB option priced at CNY 3,899 ($550) and a 16 GB/512 GB variant that costs CNY 4,099 ($575).
