This episode is genuinely one of my favourites of the entire show. The voice over from the tapes is such a clever addition to the episode. I loved the fact that it was such a close to home (literally) episode for Burgess and Ruzek, they handled it so well. They have always been such a powerhouse but ever since they got married it’s been on a whole other level.
The intricacy of the entire case was so gripping. The different types of interview styles were so fun to watch, there was no point in the storyline where I was bored at all. Kim hallucinating Sasha after she was drugged was so spooky. I don’t know why I need to be worried that Kim’s going to die almost every single season but here we are. I would say I hate seeing it, but Marina Squerciati is such an incredible actor that I don’t mind too much.
Adam not waiting when Kim said to hold was such classic Adam and regardless of how much Kim contests that he should have waited you could see really, she was grateful. Watching Kim listen to the tapes was a tough watch, she was struggling so much but she just wanted justice for Sasha.
Burzek fans got a nice little moment where Adam and Kim switched sunglasses presumably because she still felt rough, and Adam gave her them to feel better once they were outside. It was literally just a split-second scene, but I loved seeing everyone stood outside having Kim’s back when she was at Lily’s house.
I have always loved to see Burzek being parents to Mack, and I think this episode seriously showed just how good they are as parents. I think it is going to be tough for Adam to come to terms with possibly moving out of Canaryville, but I am so intrigued to see how this storyline plays out.
This season of Chicago PD has started off with a bang and this is going to be one heck of a season if it continues like this.
