Google wants to integrate Nano Banana into Maps next

Google’s Nano Banana is probably the best AI image generator and editor, and the company knows it’s got a very popular tool in its hands. So much so, that Google is now working on integrating Nano Banana into one of its most popular apps: Google Maps.

If that sounds rather strange to you, you’re not alone, but this is apparently happening, as the folks over at Android Authority have discovered some relevant code strings in the latest version of Google Maps. These are laying the groundwork for Nano Banana coming to Maps.

In case you’re wondering how you’d even use Nano Banana in Maps, it’s apparently going to let you create images based on places available in Street View. Of course, Nano Banana will be able to give those places a fun new style, depending on your prompt.

This will either turn out to be the most niche and scarcely used Nano Banana integration yet, or a fun way to generate some images based on real-life places. We’ll have to wait and see which way it goes. Since some code strings for it are already in the latest version of the Maps app, we assume it won’t take long for this new feature to be officially released.
